Complex Holiday is two things.
It is an event organiser for adventurous, anomalous and experimental music events, especially in Malta. It is, most notably, involved in the booking and managing of the Sustain-Delay programme at the Malta Society of Arts, the archipelago’s oldest-running arts institution.
It is also a small, itinerant label established in 2020 to lose money and release “inside-out ambient and sound art tomfoolery”. The main formats are cassette and digital. Based in Malta, with footholds in Brussels and Marseille, it is particularly interested in documenting the sounds of the Maltese underground, and releasing sound and print from underrepresented regions or languages – but not exclusively.
Complex Holiday was founded by Kurt Buttigieg. The label is managed together with Robert Farrugia.
